May 9, 2020: Drive-Through Food Drive
HOPE Center of Edmond will hold a Drive-Through Food Drive on May 9th, 2020. The annual Letter Carrier’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive was originally scheduled for that day, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Almost half of the canned and non-perishable food donations HOPE Center receives throughout the year come as part of the Letter Carrier’s Food Drive. The demand for food assistance always increases during the summer, but the need for community support will be particularly critical during this time of crisis.
The Drive-Through Food Drive will be a contactless drop-off process that will observe social distancing guidelines. Donors will enter the parking lot from Bowman, on the south side of our building at 1251 N. Broadway. Volunteers will be in the parking lot to receive donations of canned and other non-perishable food. Donors may hand their donations to a volunteer or place it into a designated “DONATION BOX” and will not even need to leave their vehicles! They will be directed to continue through the parking lot and exit on Broadway. We ask that donations be bagged and any requests for receipts be included in the bag with the donated items.
Take an opportunity to relieve some “quarantine fever” and help others in our community. Plan to drive through and donate on May 9th. Donations will be accepted from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. We are so grateful for the ongoing encouragement and support from the community. We HOPE to see you then!
